Company Round Up – July

Company Round Up – July

We take a look at key events and stories that happened at MSP in the month of July.

Industrial Cadets Celebration Ceremony

Industrial Cadets Celebration Ceremony

For 12 weeks, we sponsored and guided an Industrial Cadets programme and the Celebration Ceremony took place this month.

For their Industrial Cadets Bronze Project, 6 students from James Calvert Spence College designed an app around health and technology. The app uses AI to emotionally and practically score a user’s questionnaire and then suggest relevant local mental health guidance, clubs, sports and activities to them.

At the ceremony, there was delight for the students as they won the award for ‘Best Teamwork’ in the North at the ceremony. What a great achievement.

MSP Software Engineer, Alex, one of the mentors supporting the students on this project, said: “The team were thrilled and rightly so after all their hard work. They have been an absolute pleasure to work with and we hope to continue working with students and projects at James Calvert Spence College in the future”.

The team behind our Automated CNC Machining Showcase

The team behind our Automated CNC Machining Showcase

It was our Automated CNC Machining Showcase this month – and here’s some of the team that helped pull it together.

It was great to work together with Biesse on this event – it was a fantastic opportunity to showcase how our products and their machines work together for precision CNC machining and manufacturing.

Automated CNC Machining Showcase Event

Automated CNC Machining Showcase Event

We had an excellent day at our Automated CNC Machining Showcase this month.

We were delighted to see new and familiar faces from the industry and it was a great opportunity to showcase different automated demos including:

AutoClock: automated probe setup and calibration
NC-Checker: automated CNC machine capability checking
NC-PartLocator: automated part alignment on two different parts

Well done to the team, it was a fantastic event! Thanks also to everyone at Biesse for hosting and helping organise such a fantastic event - the Materia CL is a perfect CNC 5-axis machine to showcase precision measuring and machining.

Missed the event? Let us know and we can arrange a demo at your own facility and on your own CNC machines – get in touch here.

MSP Strategy Away Day 2023

MSP Strategy Away Day 2023

This month, we left our desks and went for our strategy away day. It was lovely to see (almost!) everyone together in the same place at the same time - something that’s not happened since before 2020! It was a fantastic day and we hope everyone had a great time.

New machine install alert at 3T-am

New machine install alert

James was at 3T Additive Manufacturing this month installing NC-Checker and NC-PartLocator on their new Matsuura MX420 machine.

3T-am already have these MSP PerfectPart products on their other machines and have seen great results: part setup time was cut from 5 hours to 10 minutes and they have increased potential machine capacity by 157%!

MSP support local charity, Womens Workshop

MSP support local charity, Womens Workshop

We’re delighted to be supporting local charity, Women’s Workshop, with their latest project.

One of our buildings has provided the perfect workspace for the non-profit organisation to build a small eco-hub out of straw bales, clay and lime.

As Women’s Workshop Development Manager, Angela Davis, says: “The hub is built by women, allowing them to develop their eco-construction skills and build confidence in using manual trades and tools, as well as nurturing their teamwork skills.”

MSP’s Commercial Director,Tony Brown, says: “We’re delighted we can provide a space and the conditions for the group to work in effectively on this project. I look forward to seeing the completed hub and wish the team every success in providing a safe and inclusive environment for local women.”
