Manufacturing metrology company achieves Cyber Essentials certification

CyberEssentials-1

Advanced CNC metrology company, MSP, is pleased to announce it has achieved the Cyber Essentials certification – the nationally-recognised standard designed to help organisations protect themselves from online threats.

MSP is the industry leader for CNC metrology solutions, helping companies such as Leonardo, Orbex or 3T-am, to automate their part processes, cut setup times and create right-first-time parts. MSP’s mission is to eliminate all errors from CNC manufacturing processes so its customers can benefit from ultimate process accuracy and push the boundaries of what is possible in the global CNC manufacturing industry.

Achieving this level of Cyber Essentials means MSP’s operations have been approved as meeting the baseline level for Cyber Security according to the UK Government-backed standard. This ensures essential security controls are in place across MSP’s digital infrastructure, including secure configuration, malware protection and user access management to reduce exposure to cyber attacks.

With the certification in place, customers can instantly know that MSP is taking proactive steps to safeguard its operations and any data that is handled.

During the certification process, it was also confirmed that MSP not only met but, in some areas, exceeded the requirements of the standard due to ongoing improvements implemented throughout 2025.

MSP IT Systems Engineer, Chris Whittaker, has managed the implementation of these advancements to steer the company towards success. He comments: “At the heart of the work I’ve been doing is a commitment to keeping MSP and everyone connected to us safe. Cyber security isn’t about ticking boxes — it’s ensuring a safe digital environment to keep our staff, customers and partners as protected as possible”.

Marianne Whitfield, MSP Director of Development says: “Strengthening our digital security is important to ensure we continue to uphold the same high standards internally as those reflected in the accuracy of the metrology software we deliver to the CNC manufacturing industry worldwide.

This certification is an important milestone for MSP and an exciting stepping stone in our ongoing commitment for full Cyber security as we now work towards further cyber security certifications”.
