Company Round Up – November 2023
by MSP Marketing on 9:05 AM on December 6, 2023
We take a look at key events and stories that happened at MSP in the month of November.
MSP at Advanced Engineering 2023
We were at Advanced Engineering this month. The team were on Stand H135 to advise visitors on how we help with right-first-time machining, optimising CNC machine capability and achieving micron-accurate probe setup and calibration.
It was also a great chance to catchup with many customers, partners and supports including Tim Nadin from CMS, Tim Mitchell from Hexagon and Silvano, Phil and Michael from Biesse.

Winner at the North East STEM Awards 2023
We celebrated this month as our Software Engineer, Alex Penrose, won in the ‘Special Recognition’ category at the North East STEM Awards.
Alex received this award after he successfully reinstated the Computer Science GCSE at his former high school, James Calvert Spence College (JCSC) in Amble.
His efforts are truly inspiring and we at MSP are extremely proud of his achievements. Congratulations Alex, this award is truly deserved!

Renishaw Automated Process Control and Connected Factory Event at NMIS
Our Technical Account Manager, Aidan, presented at the Automated Process Control and Connected Factory Technology Roadshow event hosted by Renishaw and the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS).
Aidan’s presentation centred around achieving zero defects in CNC manufacturing and right-first-time parts, every time.
It was great to see everyone. Read more about our NMIS membership here.
We welcome Global Technologies Racing as a new customer
This month we installed our products at new customer, Global Technologies Racing.
Amanda has been on-site to install NC-Checker, NC-PartLocator and AutoClock on one of their Zimmermann machines.
The company approached MSP to upgrade their production processes with automation to reduce the time taken to machine their chassis.
GTR can now:
- automate probe setup and calibration
- track machine performance
- automate part setup and positioning
- perform on-machine verification
We’re delighted to have been able to deliver these to GTR to give them next-generation manufacturing capabilities and time savings.
If you would like to have this on your own shopfloor, get in touch here.
Great customer feedback
Who doesn’t want to hear their parts are “10 times better” than their competitor’s parts?
Well, that’s exactly what happened to our customer, Polar Technology! Just look at this lovely feedback from their Machine Shop Manager, Thomas Rogers:
“I wanted to email to thank yourselves as a business, but especially Amanda for getting us going with our aluminium part production.
“We are now producing parts which are achieving a very high success rate. This is excellent news as the business we are supplying to used to dual source these parts, however, they have confirmed they will be using the parts we’re making over their second source as ours are ’10 times better’. “
If you want to start machining your parts perfectly and make them 10 times better than your competitors, get in touch here.
MSP is now a NMIS member
This month we were delighted to announce we have joined forces with the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS).
Adding to the impressive NMIS membership list, we will use our expertise in CNC automation, CNC machine tool capability and micron-accurate machining to help towards the NMIS mission of driving the future of manufacturing through innovation.
We look forward to partnering with NMIS and their members on complex part manufacturing projects and generating future innovations needed for the manufacturing industry.

MTA Technical Committee Meeting at NMIS
MSP PerfectPart Technical Lead, Laurence Reeves, attended the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) Technical meeting held at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland.
Speaker, Jillian MacBryde introduced the attendees to the InteAct project which aims to support UK manufacturing in innovation and dissemination of digital technologies.

NECC Inspiring Females Awards
Our Senior Applications Engineer, Amanda Tait, was shortlisted at the North East Chamber of Commerce Inspiring Awards in the Inspiring Female (International Business) category.
She was nominated in this category for her drive, energy and experience that make her a role model to her peers, colleagues and customers alike.
Congratulations to all the winners and shortlisted nominees. And thanks to the Chamber for organising such a fantastic event to celebrate women and employers who have made such an inspirational impact across the region. Charlie Charlton was a great host and the entertainment from Gateshead College and the True Colours Theatre was wonderful.
